Abstract EN

The nostalgia of the past is a psychological state that evokes in the person unconsciously and changes into thought.

In the field of literature, this situation arises for a person who has suffered from depression of the present in different ways, such as individual motives or social and political conditions in the society in which he lives; that is why he always thinks of turning back to the past and it's sweet memories.

Mohammad AlMaghout is a famous poet in contemporary arabic literature and the creator of prose poem and is the owner of the doctrine of romance.

Maghout feels anxious and sad like other romantics, which makes him escape to nature or to himself and contain himself to be searched for, so he fled from reality and set off for the past world where his lost happiness is always searched.

In this study, the author examined and applied the quality of nostalgia in the poetry of this Syrian poet with emphasis on analytical descriptive method.

This research finds three nostalgic manifestations of nostalgia in his poetry, especially the days of childhood, utopia or human paradise, reminiscent of family members and old friends
