English Abstract

-Information Technology (IT) plays a major role in every organization, as it shapes one of the most valuable assets, in which if it is effectively governed and managed, maximum benefits from IT investments can be realized in full alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

The main objective of the study is to develop an Information Technology Governance (ITG) model that is based on the Control Objectives of the Information and Related Technologies framework (COBIT 5), and in turn, have it implemented in the Jordanian Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector, while exploring the IT-related goals achieved through adopting the proposed model.

To achieve the objectives of the study, a questionnaire was developed and distributed to 600 Jordanian ICT companies, with only 150 questionnaires retrieved.

Descriptive analytical techniques were used to analyze the collected data such as T-test and one-way ANOVA test.

The main outcome of this study is an ITG model that consists of the 20 most important processes, which help organizations achieve all identified balance scorecard IT-related goals.

The study also finds that there are no significant statistical differences in the ranking of ITG processes’ importance due to the respondents’ demographic differences, excluding the degree of ITG awareness.

The study recommends that Jordanian ICT companies must adopt the proposed ITG model to enhance the alignment between IT resources and business objectives; this could be facilitated by increasing the awareness among employees and senior managers in ITG processes and concepts
