Abstract EN

The study aimed at identifying the level of psychological traits and the level of achievement and their relationship with the players short distances in Jordanian universities as well as to identify the variable impact of the (sex) on the level of psychological traits and its impact on the level of achievement, and the researcher used descriptive survey for data collection, and the study sample consisted of (49) players short distances was chosen as the way intentional answered the questionnaire consisted of (28) items distributed on four areas (trait anxiety, trait focus attention, mental visualization feature, self) confidence feature.

The data were analyzed using the arithmetic means and standard deviations alpha Cronbach's coefficient for the detection of stability study tool and values sprains and correlation coefficient and the application of analysis (Independent Samples Test), The results showed that the overall average for mental attributes was high and all fields of study, and that the level of High achievement gave an indication of the distribution of the data and all the normal activities, The results also showed a correlation between the level of psychological traits and the level of achievement in all the attributes of the study except trait anxiety, which was moderate, and also the lack of statistical significance in the areas of differences (trait anxiety, self-confidence feature, the tool as a whole), depending on the variable (sex), but the presence of statistically significant in the areas of differences (focus attention trait and characteristic mental visualization) depending on the sex variable and in favor of (male), and finally there are statistically significant differences in the effectiveness of the differences (100m, 200m, 400m) depending on the sex variable and in favor of (male).
