Abstract EN
It seems that the Arab Spring and the emergence of the Islamic State Organization in Iraq (ISIL) and the consequent security, political, and military vacuum in the Middle East gave the Kurdish Nationalist Movement an outlet to achieve some political gains in Syria and Iraq.
This paper maintains that the role of the Kurdish Nationalist Movement will be weakened under Donald Trump's administration which prefers isolationism and avoids nation-building abroad.
In addition, the effects the geopolitics of the areas where the Kurds live will force them to be dependent on regional countries.
It is also argued that the emerging political developments in the post-ISIS Middle East, especially the Iranian policy of expansionism, will eventually force the U.S.
and the Kurdish groups in Syria, and Iraq to combine efforts with Turkey to stop Iranian designs on the Middle East.
