Abstract EN
The experiment was conducted in Lath house at college of agriculture, University of Duhok.
The design of experiment was factorial and the treatment arrangement in RCBD with three replications.
Soil compactions made to reach these levels of bulk density (1.35, 1.54, 1.74, and 1.94) g.cm-3 using four genotypes of corn crop (Zea mays L.) (Polina, Synthetic 5012, Synthetic one, Synthetic 5018) which were planted in 48 pots at depth 4-5 cm from soil surface.
The results were showed a significant differences in plant height, leaf area, root depth and soil strength.
The Synthetic 5018 gave highest value in plant height, leaf area and soil strength.
Root growth of genotypes were decreased with increasing soil compaction levels.
