Abstract EN

The study focuses on the experience of the Moroccan Justice and Development Party (JDP) in the government.

The party has ascended to power in the context of the revolutions of the Arab Spring in 2011.

The study examines the determinants of JDP’s political career which are highlighted by the homogeneity of its leadership as well as its pragmatic politics and its ability to separate between the call movement, Da‘wah, and politics.

The study also looks into JDP's survival strategies such as its alliance with the Royal Institution, Al-Makhzan, and other cross-ideological alliances.

The study finds that JDP has set, for itself, limits not to be exceeded, such as avoiding any clash with the ‘deep’ State, which in turn, has enabled the party to maintain its strength, its organizational cohesion, and its primacy in the government between 2012 and 2016.
