Abstract EN

Immediately after independence Algeria’s efforts were devoted to development, where it established programs and conventions in order to prepare outline development plan through adopting strategies to ensure success, which can be summarized in the development plans where manufacturing occupies an importance place in building a strong and robust national economy.

Algeria has chosen basic industries as a development model , because it allows promoting investments that will raise productivity of the other sectors.

It was called the independent development strategy stage.After that, the economic reform and restructuring at all levels , which marked a transition from a planned socialist economy to a market economy after the crisis in 1986 which required initially local reforms without resorting to foreign partners.

Algeria has continued its efforts through the economic recovery support program(2001/2004), where it sets a number of objectives designed to encourage development through the activation of market economy mechanisms, mainly human development.

Several significant results, including: a total investment of about $ 46 billion, a continuous growth rate of 3.8% on average, a decline in unemployment rates, infrastructure and public housing building.

In order to pursue effort for the development recovery in all sectors of the economy, Algeria implemented Additional Economic Recovery Support Program (2005/2009) designed to stimulate investment and encourage partnership privatization, in addition to the third program i.e.

the second five-year program (2010/2014) related to promoting human development.
