Abstract EN

In this study we aim to assess the financial performance of two algerian commercial banks (BNA and CPA), by analyzing the results of certain financial performance indicators of the two banks to deduce the effectiveness and efficiency of their performance during the seven-year period from 2005 to 2011, and depending on the extracted data from the financial statements (Balance sheet, results table) of the two banks.

Through a statistical analysis of the values of the relevant indicators and the comparison between the averages of the achieved results for the years under study, we reached to a number of important results of which; the necessity of integrating the elements of efficiency and effectiveness within the indicators of assessing the financial performance of the two banks
