Abstract EN
With advances in technology and knowledge about the brain, there has been the development of brain-compatible or brain-based learning.
Brain-based learning is a new paradigm that has tremendous implications for educators and students.
BrainBased Learning can be viewed as techniques gleaned from research in neurology and cognitive science used to enhance teacher instruction.
These strategies can also be used to enhance students‘ ability to learn using ways in which they feel most comfortable, neurologically speaking.
In recent years, more and more teachers have been employing brain-based learning strategies in their classrooms.
In other words, teachers are using information on the neuroscience of the brain and how the brain learns to guide their teaching strategies.
The good news is that these brain-based teaching strategies are effective for all students, regardless of their learning challenges.
The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of brain-based teaching on Iraqi EFL College Students' performance in composition.
This experimental study, which was designed as pre- and post-test control group model, was conducted at English Department/ College of Education Ibn Rushd for human sciences .
The study lasted ( 6 ) weeks in the first semester where the sample of the study is 1st stage students for the academic year 2015-2016 .
During the research process, the experimental group was administered a brain-based learning approach, while the control group was administered a traditional teaching approach.
Analysis of post-test performance tests revealed a significant difference between the groups favoring brain-based learning.
