Literariness appeared in the twentieth century in Europe and America, influenced by Western schools such stylistic poetic formalism, reception theory and the New Criticism.

It has developed a new method of analysis : an analysis process that aims to study texts outside their frame of reference, without losing sight of those contexts, i.e.

to read them along the literary text structure and thus the study of literature does not exceed the literary text, but delves into the depths to uproot stylistic and semantic reference features that can be examples or models, and that is what Roman Jacobson meant when he said: it n is not literature in general which is the subject of literature, but a theme of literariness is what makes the impact of what a literary effect.
