The aim of this study is to put light on the challenges facing the multilateral trading system, and between these challenges the problem of environment and its impact on trade liberalization efforts and how can harmonize trade liberalization and maintaining the environment, the second challenge is the economic crisis afflicting the global economy are considered like one of the obstacles facing the World Trade, declining commercial exchanges and increase of protectionist measures play a significant role in reducing the economic growth, the regional trade agreements threaten to blow up the efforts of the WTO to establish an international system of fair trade because of the preferences that be at the expense of the principle of MFN.
