Abstract EN

This paper aims to shed light on the reality of the Algerian State employment policy and its impact on the reduction of the unemployment rate.

To ensure this, we have addressed the new programs established during the five-year plan 2010-2014.

The analysis of figures and rates at the level of the National Statistical Office (ONS) enabled us to draw conclusions, mainly that the mechanisms and programs put in place by the State in the field of employment are numerous and diverse.

However, their success depends to a large extent on the effectiveness of guidance and communication, and to bring each unemployed person closer to the employment system that suits him, even if this is part of the ordinary tasks of the National Employment Agency, as a public body responsible for the organization and monitoring of the labor market and the Employment Directorates of the Wilaya (i.e.

County) as a representative of the Minister of Employment at local level
