Abstract EN

The agricultural sector has a great importance in the economic development in many countries of the world, through its essential role in addressing a number of issues and problems in the national economy, especially those related to food security and self-sufficiency, as well as its contributing in providing of jobs, and also through its role in the diversification of the national economy structure, inaddition to enhance the integration and interdependence between the various economic sectors and branches, and this by its contribution to the demand on many of their outputs, such as energy, industry and services on the one hand, and provide the needs from agricultural products for many sectors and economic activities, like branches of food industry, trade and final consumption on the other hand.

Algeria as one of the rich countries in term of various resources, human and material, that are essential to ensure the development of the agricultural sector and enhance its role in the national development process, it has adopted a set of policies and strategies from the beginning of the year 2000, for the purpose of development and modernization of this sector, and to strengthen its role in the development and diversification of the national economy, and these are the main points, on which we will focus, in this paper.
