Abstract EN

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of linguistic games and storytelling strategies on improving creative writing skills among ninth grade female students in the schools of the ministry of education at north-west Badia directorate in Mafraq governorate.

The sample of the study consisted of (75) female students selected purposefully from three female schools in north-west Badia directorate in Mafraq governorate: the first is a control group from Al-nahda school consisted of (25) students, the second is an experimental group from Um-masrab school totaling (25) students and the third is an experimental group from Mqheer Al-sarhan school totaling (25) students.

The first experimental group was studied through linguistics games adopted in this study, the second experimental group was studied through storytelling strategy meanwhile, and the control group was studied through the traditional group described in the teachers’ guide.

To achieve the aim of this study, the researchers administrated a test in story-writing measuring the skills of writing storied adopted by the study and evaluating writing performance according to the rules of story writing.

The findings of the study showed that there are significant statistical differences at the level of (α =0.05) attributed to the teaching strategy in favor of the first experimental group (linguistics games).

Moreover, there are significant statistical differences at the level of (α =0.05) attributed to the teaching strategy in favor of the second experimental group (storytelling).

The findings showed that there were no significant statistical differences at the level of (α = 0.05) between the experimental group attributed to the teaching strategies.
