The author held a structuring scientific reading of Bourdieu model on Kabylia region and on the social world in general.
He revisited the theoretical corpus and the first empirical work held in Algeria in the second half of the fifties by Pierre Bourdieu.
He first reminded that Bourdieu was interested in that country from a dual perspective: sociological and anthropological, analysing on the one hand the effects of colonial domination on the Algerian society from a sociological perspective and on the other hand, studying the Kabyle village and its culture from an anthropological perspective.
Lahouari Addi then demonstrates, in an enlightening way, how the key concepts of the theoretical work of Bourdieu (habitus, social capital, ...) have been forged in theis founding research.
For him, Kabylia never ceased to be a paradigmatic reference to show the hidden character of the mechanisms of the social domination and the historical basis of the rationality of the economic discourse in Western societies.

L’Auteur a tenu une lecture scientifique structurante du modèle Bourdieu sur la Kabylie et sur le monde social en général.
Il a revisité le corpus théorique et les premiers travaux empiriques, menés en Algérie dans la seconde moitié des années cinquante par Pierre Bourdieu.
Il rappelle d'abord que Bourdieu s'est intéressé à ce pays dans une double perspective, sociologique et anthropologique, analysant d'une part les effets de la domination coloniale sur la société algérienne dans une perspective sociologique et, d'autre part, en étudiant le village kabyle et sa culture dans une perspective anthropologique.
Lahouari Addi démontre ensuite, de façon particulièrement éclairante, comment les concepts majeurs de l'œuvre théorique de Bourdieu (habitus, capital social,...) ont été forgés dans ces recherches fondatrices : pour lui, la Kabylie n'a jamais cessé d'être une référence paradigmatique pour montrer le caractère caché des mécanismes de la domination sociale et le fondement historique de la rationalité du discours économique dans les sociétés occidentales.
