Abstract EN

The rehabilitation of small and medium enterprises positively affects the competitiveness of the economies of most of the countries that had succeeded in developing and rehabilitating these institutions, and its impact in Algeria is negligible because it is a rural economy dependent on the hydrocarbons sector, which contributes 98% of exports, which weakens the competitiveness of the Algerian economy.

Algeria has taken a more serious approach to the promotion and rehabilitation of small and medium enterprises, and Algeria has undertaken several programs to qualify these institutions to enhance their competitiveness.

This study aims to highlight the impact of SME qualification programs on the competitiveness of the national economy during the period 1999-2015.

The study relied on the analysis of some reports of countries' competitiveness indicators and macroeconomic indicators.
