The judicial mediation, innovated by the Algerian legislator to settle dispute, is a new mechanism in the civil and penal procedural code.

The civil mediation is approved according to the law N° 08-09 dated on 25/02/2008 containing the civil and administrative procedural code.

Seven years later, the Algerian legislator has also approved another type of mediation that concerns the penal case according to the ordinance N° 15-02 of 23/07/2015 modifying and completing both the penal procedural code and the child protection code N° 15-12.
