Abstract EN

The Neorealist approach of foreign policy is one of the systemic approaches that emphasize the influence of the international structure on the external behavior of state, this structure is defined by anarchy, which means that there is no formal central authority; so, every sovereign state is formally equal in this system.

These states act according to the logic of self-help.

They seek to expand their capabilities vis-à-vis rival states ,and the scope and ambition of a country’s interests are driven by its level of capability.While, Neoliberalism represents sub-systemic approaches that explain the behavior of states from the bottom, depending on the internal structure.

It refuses to deal with states as a unitary actors and instead focuses on social actors.

But the Constructivist approach attempts to introduce determinants from the internal and international levels.

It considers that states don’t behave according to rational calculations of their foreign actions, but in accordance with the social norms.
