Abstract EN

The study aims at investigating the contextual aspects of a number of Semitic mutual expressions that are used in the Holy Quran.

Those aspects include the semantic implications of the Quranic expression and the examination of the contexts that included those expressions and their semantic impact.

The study concluded that the use of the Semitic mutual expressions in the Holy Quran is a case of enrichment that multiplies the semantic impact for the Quranic context and that shortens the period between the time of the occurrence of an event and the time when the Holy Quran was revealed.

The use of the Semitic mutual expressions in the Holy Quran has also the effect of creating subject consistency among semantic units; it also has the effect of extending the Arabic repertoire so it can include all expressions used by Arabs even if those expressions are not originally Arabic.
