Abstract EN
Hydrogen pcroxide is a ubiquitous moleculc.
We exhale it, and take it in from our diet, and cxcrctc it.
It plays an important rôle in physiological and pathological proccsses.
H2O2 is closcly rclated to scvcral human discascs including cancers.
Single-wallcd carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) have drawn grcat interest in chcmical and biological optical sensor applications duc to their novel ncar infrared (NIR) optical propcrtics that are cxtremely sensitive to the surround ing environment.
Hcrcin, DsDNA-encascd SWNTs for detccting hydrogen pcroxidc in a biological environment: dsDNA-SWNTs have been used as a bio-probe sensor for optical détection of H202 in a blood modcl matrix (BMM) and sérum, It has been found that, 1.7 M thiocyanatc ion (SCN) and 1 mM nitrite ion (*Vt>f) have shown the ability to initiatc and accclcratc the réaction as well as the restoration of suppressed spectral intensity of SWNT.
It has been found that, the détection limits (dl) of H2O2 in BMM-1.7 SCN, BMM-1 mM nitrite ion, and sérum were 5.8, 9.4, and 2.9 pM, respectivcly and thus have the sensitivity required to dctect physiological and cnvironmcntal of H2O2.
