Presently breast cancer is the most common cancers in fcmalcs.

As BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes play a critical rôle in the DNA repair of doublc-strand breaks, the prépondérance of the hcrcditary forms of breast cancer arc caused by mutations in the these genes , therefore fcmalcs with a family history of breast cancer should makc fréquent gcnctic follow-up .

Gcnctic variants with unclear clinical significancc may appear a diagnostic challenge when performing a targeted risk.

In this study, exon 14 of BRCA2 gcnc was targeted for gcnctic variables identifiction in the group of some female Iraqi breast cancer patients using High Résolution Melting (HRM).

For our knowing, this is the first time to use this technique for this purpose on Iraqi DNA breast cancer samplcs.

DNA samplcs were obtaincd from 36 fcmalc Iraqi breast cancer patients (mcan age 50.5+9.85) and 10 age-matched apparently hcalth Controls.

Pre-approval was obtaincd from ail subjccts.

Thirty fivc (97.22%) of breast cancer patients were harbouring gcnc mutations on exon 14 of BRCA2 gcnc, ail were missense.

The thirty fivc (97.22%) of patients were with (t.7397T>C.V2466A) mutation, wrhilc a novel missense mutation (a, 7387 A>g.N2463D) wras recordcd in 22(61.11%) of patients.

This study rccommend to includc larger sampling aiming to détermine the prevalcncc of the mutations in the gênerai Iraqi population.
