Abstract EN

This paper is mainly interested in the study of the metaphor in Labudda; a Collection of Poems written by Mahmoud Hassan Ismail from a stylistic and statistical perspective.

It breaks out to analyze metaphor relying on not only the traditional old method that was interested on the indicative side only, but also via a comprehensive conception where the researcher tries to create a connection between both the indicative and the grammatical sides as well.

This is mainly achieved to find out the very possible meanings that emerge as a result of the connection between a special kind of metaphor as well as a special kind of grammatical structure which was basically chosen by the poet as a form to express his metaphor according to it.

This paper of study has come to achieve a group of results.

The most important of them are the following; a-The collection of poems "Laabudda" is distinguished by the abundance of rich language b-The level of connection between metaphor and the grammatical structure is defined by the general significance of the poem.

c-Personification is a general distinction in poetry.

d-The school of renaissance prefers using the revival metaphor and this coincides with its nature.
