Abstract EN

In his essay “Transcendental Altruism”, the Lebanese researcher Hadi Kobaisy treats the concept of otherness from a religious viewpoint.

He considers that this concept occupies a vast sphere in Islamic Law whether in its rhetoric or the conduct of its most prominent figures, but it is a matter of question why philosophical and ethical attention to it is still limited.

This essay strives to establish the concept of altruism in the Islamic religious sphere and to present its general context based on the statements regarding it in Islamic Law.
