The Egyptian researcher Muhammad Sayyed Ali presents an article entitled “The Other according to Sartre and Bo Hdeiba” which builds the comparison of its presuppositions on two ideas: the French philosopher Jean Paul Sartre’s view on “existence and non-existence” as revealed in the following quote: “the other steals my existence from me and therefore my freedom… the other steals my possession of myself”, and the Tunisian intellectual Abd Al-Wahhab Bo Hdeiba’s view which signifies that: “otherness has numerous meanings and levels inseparable from human experience, and they only become negative when they are devoid of love”.

This article also aims to answer the following question: How does otherness appear in the thought of Sartre and Bo Hdeiba, and what are the similarities and differences between the two philosophers regarding this issue?
