Cultural factors are considered the pivotal issues in health problems.

Health care involves many aspects of culture.

Moreover culture affects perceptions and conceptions of patients and health service providers.

Nursing is in effect a cultural phenomenon, as well as a cultural group that reproduces meanings related to nursing culture.

Core cultural meanings are related to power.

That is because culture is essentially power and immersed totally in power relations.

Power is inevitably associated with the daily practice of nursing, penetrates nurses’ interactions and routine activities, and likewise shapes their actions, attitudes, discourses, and everyday practices.

therefore thepresent qualitative studyfocusesoninvestigating: (1)the main traits characterizes nursing culture (patterned ways of thinking, feeling, and acting).

(2) social and organizational context of nursing culture as well as analyzing nurses’ roles, behaviours and practices in terms of socio-cultural and organizational context.

(3) the relation between nursing culture and the practice of power.

(4) nursing culture’s influence on clinical and nursing practices performed by nurses.

(5) discourses of power within hospital.

(6) the relation between culture, gender, and the practice of power.

(7) the relation between organizational culture, nursing culture and job satisfaction.

The present study used an anthropological qualitative methodology relied upon multiple tools for data collection: focus group discussions, participant observations, Semistructured interviews, and narrative ethnography.

It was moreover oriented by poststructuralism and postmodern social constructionism as a theoretical framework.

Thefindingsrevealedthat: 1-Nursesrepresentasubculture consistsof a set of patterned ways of thinking, feeling, and acting.

2- Nursing group manifests the behaviors of an oppressed group.

3 - Nurses represent a cultural group reproduces cultural meanings involved in nursing culture, and the core cultural meanings are related to power.

4-Hospital isafieldofpowerembracesanotherfields,nursingisoneof them.

5- Nursing culture influences nurses’ practice of power in their relationships to doctors, patients, and other nurses.

6 - Nurses are obsessed by a feeling of doctors professional dominance in the clinical context, and this feeling is shaped by nursing culture.

7 - Nurses are simultaneously subjected to power and practice, and manifests overt and subtle forms of resistance.

8- Nursing culture is a field of conflict, contradiction, and power inequalities.

This is obvious in the interactions and practices of power within nursing group.

9 - Power and knowledge are closely connected, and the power of authoritarian medical knowledge collides with the power of effective nursing knowledge.

10 - Gender mediates the relations and interactions between doctors and nurses.

11- Hospital’s organizational culture reproduces meanings of subordination and compliance embodied in nursing culture.

12- Nursing culture and organizational culture determine the level of job satisfaction.
