Abstract EN

This study aimed to evaluate the public Jordanian universities by using Balanced Score card through showing the perception’s extent of the academic and the administrative staff operating in these universities of the importance of using Balanced Score card in evaluating the universities’ performance and the extent to which the universities’ performance meets the Balanced Score card’s four perspectives (Financial , Customers (students) , Internal Business Process, Learning and Growth).

Achieving the objective of the study, a questionnaire was designed and distributed to a sample consisted of 75 respondents representing the operating academic and administrative staff in the public universities.

The questionnaires were analyzed using (SPSS) and the study concluded that the academic and administrative staff in the public universities realize the importance of using Balanced Score card in evaluating the universities’ performance and these universities meet the requirements of the four perceptions of Balanced Score card which are Financial , Customers (students) , Internal Business Process, Learning and Growth except the universities’ achievement of profits according to the Financial perspective ,following up the graduates according to the customers’(students’) perceptive plus holding the necessary training courses to prepare the students for the market labor and finding appropriate work opportunities to them according to the perceptive of Learning and Growth.

The study recommended the Jordanian universities focus on raising the efficiency of the Internal Business Process perspective through concentrating on holding training courses that prepare the students to the labor market , make their effort to find appropriate work opportunities to the graduates, plus the focus on the financial perspective through the universities’ role in finding supportive financial resources other than the students’ tuition fees
