Abstract EN

This study aims to identify the effect of using the strategies of active learning to improve achievement in Islamic education subject for the tenth grade students in Jordan.

The researchers adopted the quasi-experimental approach ; on a sample (n = 110 male and female students) of the tenth grade students from the Schools of Na’our district of the ministry of education in Jordan.

Students were chosen purposively and through the random distribution to assign them to four divisions in the experimental and control groups.

The experimental group that underwent strategies of active learning had (53) students, while the control group that underwent conventional method had (57) students.

To achieve the objectives of the study, the researchers prepared academic test in Islamic education subject and academic plans according to the active learning strategies.

The study results showed statistically significant difference at the level of significance (a ≤ 0.05) between the average performance of the experimental group which has been exposed to the active learning strategies and the average performance of the control group on the achievement test in Islamic education in favor of the experimental group, due to the active learning strategies, results also showed the lack of a statistically significant effect (a ≤ 0.05) in achievement between the average performance of the experimental group and the average performance of the control group that was due to the gender of the students.
