Abstract EN

The study aims at discovering the historical indications and documentary information which some of Al-Ameedi’s letters, which were issued by the Fatimid Caliph’s Court, in the period when Al-Ameedi performed his Court jobs in the early fifth (eleventh AD.) century.

These letters were sent to the leaders who had dominated the State’s borderlands.

The article also tries to employ these documentaries in the study of history.

The letters are unique, and are being published for the first time.

They have not been mentioned in any other source to show how the Fatimid State dealt with those rebelling leaders, in addition to what the caliph did in order to win the rebelling leaders’ loyalty including his concession of some of their leaderships, and bestowing gifts and donations on them.

Then the article shows the actions which the state took against these rebels especially the military forays which were sent against them.

The letters also present the history of the different events in Sham parts of the Fatimid State, in addition to the effects of these wars on the destruction of buildings, forcing people to leave their homes, and the lack of security and order especially on roads.

The study confirms the importance of Al-Ameedi’s letters and their historical value as they present highly significant primary data about the importance of the political relations which connected the Fatimid Caliphs and some Sham Tribal leaders in the beginning of the fifth (eleventh AD) century.
