English Abstract

The basement magnetic anomalies or anomaly sets of the central and southern Iraq are mostly characterized by clear right lateral distortions zones (coupling stress).

If this coupling stress had acted during the closure of the Tythian Sea, significant structures within the sedimentary cover should be developed along these zones.
