Being the first Islamic capital in the Islamic history and with the existence of the Prophet's Mosque in it, Al Madinah Al Monowarah has always occupied a unique status in the hearts and minds of state rulers throughout the Islamic history, therefore it religiously possesses a special position.
Due to the above mentioned status of Al Madinah Al Monowarah, those who are asked to carry out different religious duties and positions were of distinguished religious as personal attributes.
The Mamluk governors used to bestow a special concern to the honorable Prophet's Mosque, therefore they preserved the religious positions which had been there in order to look after and maintain serving the Prophet's Mosque.
This study highlights the different kinds of religious positions and posts which were there in Al Madinah Al Monowarah before and during the era of the Mamluk state as well as other religious and administrative positions created by The Mamluk.
