This research is an attempt to know what kind of problems in teaching English curriculum in preparatory schools of Libya for the second stage of fundamental.
A case study of English department in the college of Education and the teachers in preparatory schools in Abu Essa.
Data was obtained through two steps.
Firstly, by presenting the curriculum to the staff of the teachers in English department in the college of Education in Abu Essa to know their point of view and analyze the recent curriculum and suggest solution for the difficulties, if there are any.
Secondly, questionnaire distributed for the teachers to find out what kind of problems they face.
The sample of the study (18) teachers in (6) schools in Abu Essa.
Collected data were analyzed using statistical methods.
The results demonstrates that agreement between the teachers in schools and the teachers in the college of Education that the textbooks are not having a very high standard compared to the students.
