Abstract EN

A photographer guide of pollen grains collected from 188 flowering plant species belonging to 64 plant families cultivated in Alexandria and El-Beheira governorates was prepared.

The current work had been done at the laboratory of Applied Entomology department, Faculty of Agricultural, Alexandria University.

Collecting pollen grains from the plants were synchronized with collecting beebread samples from the apiaries.

In addition, microphotographs and measurements of the studied pollen grains were included.

Microscopic analysis for beebread samples showed a large number of pollen of different sizes and forms.

Throughout the year 2013-2014, 65 genera recorded as sources of bee forage plant belonging to 25 plant families.

The most represented families were Fabaceae (10 spp.), Asteraceae (9 spp.), Brassicaceae (8 spp.), Malvaceae (4 spp.) and Cucurbitaceae (4 spp.) and Convolvulaceae (4 spp.), they contributed by 60.9% of total bee flora.

Scanning Electron Microscopic photographs (SEM) were taken from some of the pollen grains founded in Alexandria and El-Beheira beebread samples, as follow: Zea mays, Citrus spp, Gossypium herbaceum, Helianthus annuus, Cucurbita pepo, Phoenix dactylifera, Vicia faba, Dolichos lablab, Erythrina humina, Ipomea palmate, Rosa gallica var.

aegyptiaca, Malus pumila, Matricaria chamomilla, Schinus terebinthifolius, Malva parviflora, Brassica oleracea var botrytis, Borago officinalis and Chrysanthemum spp.).
