Abstract EN

This paper explores the evolution of communication from the semiotics point of view.

Semiotics is a form of applied linguistics concerned with the study of all signs and symbols that permit communication among people, whether that involves spoken or written language.

Semiotics has an important role in understanding the hidden implications of everything, as the universe might be nothing more than a system of signs and icons in reality1, according to Peirce.

Communicative semiotics proposes – in principle – the study of all aspects relating to our lives in which language and codes are important.

It allows the researcher to deal with visual discourse parallel to lingual discourse.
