Abstract EN

Algeria, like other countries seeks to attract foreign direct investment as an unavoidable strategic option to realize the requirements of sustainable development in light of current developments, the study aims to identifying the reality of foreign direct investment in Algeria and presenting its effects on aspects of sustainable development in Algeria during the period between 2002 and 2016.

Based on the reports issued by the National Agency for Investment Development in Algeria, as well as a number of international reports, and following the analytical approach, the study concluded that taking the principles of sustainable development into consideration when choosing between investment projects flowing to Algeria, enables the trend towards sustainable development based on foreign investment
