Abstract EN

Buzan’s and Weaver’s contributions in their study bearing the title: “ Regions and powers,”are considered to be among the most important contributions in the field of security studies in general and the regional studies in particular.

Though, they are not the only ones who have contributed in developing the theory as a whole.

There are other approaches contributed in its evolutions as well such as the different influences of Post Cold War( international relations), in addition to the development of the theories and the construction of regional entities.

For Buzan, the regional security complex is a good tool for providing a new regional security concept within the modern International relations.

He also gives out two main contributions: the first focuses on the importance of analyzing the regional system in addition to other systems, i-e national and international.

The second is about the shortcomings of identifying the regions’ borders.

Here comes Buzan’s suggestion for a more important regional analysis.

This paper has the intention of refereeing to four potential analyses levels initiating the establishment of Maghreb regional system as a “ security complex.”
