Abstract EN

The problem of identity and national culture arises many questions about its correlation with other problems and the political development of the Sudan.

These issues are frequently viewed in connection with contrastive elements to their ingredients.

In fact the Sudanese culture is the social life style, distinguished by various activities, that express the national aspiration, while the self-consciousness of these dimensions represents the awareness of the characteristics, potentialities, and foresight to progress.

Accordingly, the cultural variety beside multi-regional identities and ethnic communities is not to be considered as a weakening factor of the national integrity of the Sudan.

On the contrary those features embody strengthening factor that should be utilized in activating the role of these national constituents in richening the experience of Sudanese community.

Many conflicts which understood as clash of identities are not so.

They are real findings of building the modern national state, and challenges confront its move forward.

However, these difficulties, could be overcome by deepen conscious of variety in unity dialectic, and conceiving the essence of substantial national problems.

The total neglect of the former facts, always leads to the domination of the apparent over the intrinsic and true nature of those problems, by hiding them behind curtains of vagueness and confusion.

Hence, this research applies historical, analytic, and critical method, to study particular deforming positions on Sudanese national identity and culture so as to tackle and positing them in an objective framework.
