Abstract EN

The increasing use of technology and internet based learning and teaching has created a significant change in language syllabus.

It has become imperative in recent years to introduce the new technologies as educational tools in the training and learning process.

Thus, the integration of technology in English as a foreign language motivates learners and enables teachers to create a nontraditional teaching environment.

Therefore, teaching aids are important in the teaching learning process.

It helps the teacher in creating a collaborative and interesting learning setting.

In fact, e-learning is defined as learning that is supported by information and communication technology (ICT) as a viable solution to meet the learners’ educational needs.

The use of textbooks with technological aids is often viewed to be an innovation that provides motivation in classrooms activities.

This paper reports on the findings of a case study carried out at Hassiba Benbouali University, Chlef.

The researcher raises awareness about the need to include new materials to support the curriculum in the hope that students’ English proficiency and performances will be further upgraded.

The purpose of this study is to examine the learners’ attitudes towards eliminating the traditional classroom teaching and the implementation of new practical teaching and learning strategies.

The findings might provide empirical data serving the Algerian universities.

The sample group was about one hundred university students studying at the University of Chlef in the department of English.

A questionnaire was distributed using random sampling.

Collected data were analysed using percentages that are represented in tables and figures.
