Abstract EN

This paper tackles the ways to improve the performance of university teacher in regard to the total quality standards.

The importance of this paper comes from its focus on the performance development of the university teachers as a key clement in the education system.

Additionally, it determines the mechanisms that contribute to the performance development and enhancement .pf the university teacher.

The descriptive analytical method was used by the researcher to achieve the objectives of the study.

The paper answers one of the important questions such as: how to develop and upgrade the performance of a university teacher concerning the total quality standards? It concludes that; the progress of societies and their prosperity depends primarily on the quality of the educational outcomes; also the university teacher plays a major role in these educational outcomes.

Finally, the paper comes out with number of recommendations including: the necessity of continues performance • • 1 appraisal and develop of capacity building program to overcome the deficiencies in the personal characteristics of the university teacher and equip him with the technical teaching skills.
