Abstract EN

This Study aimed at identifying the effect of using inquiry tasks strategy on 9th grade students’ mathematics achievement and on developing their mathematical thinking skills.

The sample of the study consisted of (60)of 9th grade female students studying at Eydon secondary comprehensive school for girls.

They were randomly distributed among two groups, (30) students for each experimental and control groups, the experimental group was taught using the survey tasks strategy, whereas the control group was taught using the regular method.

Two instruments were used, the first was an achievement test, and the second was a mathematical thinking test, the researcher ensures the validity and reliability of these two instruments.

The findings indicated that there was a statistical significant differences at (α =0,05) in the achievement test in favor of the experimental group who studied mathematics using the inquiry tasks strategy.

Besides the findings of the study have shown that there is a statistically significant differences at α=0.05 in the mathematical thinking test in favor of the experimental group who studied using the inquiry tasks strategy
