The present study aims to find out how families of children with autism are satisfied with the special education services delivered to their children in institutions and centers involved in the provision of service for children with autism, and its relation to sex variable, and severity of autism.
The study sample consisted of 250 families of children with autism.
To achieve the objective of the study, the researcher designed a questionnaire to measure the level of satisfaction of families of children with autism with services provided to their children in educational institutions.
The validity and reliability of the study instrument were verified0 The results showed satisfaction of the families with services provided to their children, averaging between (2.03 and 3.68), based on the responses of the study sample to the questionnaire’s items.
The means of the scores of the study sample on the instrument as a whole was (2.97), indicating high level of families’ satisfaction with the services provided to children with autism0 As for the variable of the severity of the disorder, the results showed a lack of statistically significant differences at the significance level of (α= 0.05) between the mean scores of the sample’s members on the questionnaire about the services provided to children with autism, due to the variable of the severity of autistic disorder (simple, medium, severe).
As for the impact of sex, the results showed a lack of statistically significant differences at the significance level of (α= 0.05) between the mean scores of the sample’s members on the questionnaire about the services provided to children with autism, due to the variable of sex of children with autistic disorder (male, female).
