A domestic model for a successful implementation of initiative knowledge management programs : the case of Alexandria shipyard in Egypt

Abstract EN

This papei -focuses on how Alexandria Shipyard in Egypt can achieve SC-A by using the proposed Knowledge Management Framework (KMF).

A previous work-study by the researchers focusing on the relationship between KM individual and firm's performance.

Also, focusing on the relationship between Quality Management (QM) Practices and operational or financial performance.

Limited number of QM researchers has considered the role of QM Practices on KM.This study will examine the relationship between QM practices and performance through KM process since knowledge creation improves the internal quality processes that are important to compete in the global market.

This paper contributes towards filling the gap between the previous work study results and using the proposed KMF to achieve quality performance and evaluate organization Sustainable Competitive Advantage (SCA) to keep pace with World Class Shipbuilding industry (WCS).

This paper seeks to reach an approach for a successful implementation of initiative knowledge management (KM) programs procedures among Egyptian organization to be more effective than its competitors.

Consequently, it can be observed as an all inclusive approach able to assist decision makers in their Knowledge Management System quality process.
