Using effective labels to interpret the masterpieces of the Egyptian museum

The Egyptian museum attracts many foreign visitors, but many of the masterpieces it exhibits either have no labels or have ineffective ones.

This research provides the essential steps to write effective labels to interpret the ancient Egyptian heritage in a proper way, and thus enhances the satisfaction of the Egyptian museum's visitors.

It takes the mummy mask of king Tutankhamujij where tour guides are not allowed, as an example of how to rewrite the explaining label in an effective way.

Questionnaires have been distributed to a sample of foreign tourists to examine their satisfaction about the current labels and of the suggested new ones.

The findings reveal that toiu-ists are more satisfied about the suggested label than the actual ones.
