Abstract EN

The objective of this study was to build a measure of psychological rigidity of athletics players with special needs and the construction of a measure of self-disability among athletes, to identify the correlation between the dimensions of mental rigidity and self-disability in a sample of athletes with special needs, to identify the level of psychological rigidity and its relationship to self-disability of athletics players with special needs.

The research community consist of athletes with special needs in the federations and sports clubs in the provinces of the Middle Euphrates (Babylon, Diwaniyah, Karbala and Muthana) in Iraq.

The sample was randomly selected and consisted of (100) players.

A questionnaire psychological rigidity and self-disability was used .

The research concluded to build a measure of psychological rigidity which can identify the psychological rigidity of athletics players of special needs, and build a measure of self-disability, which can identify the self-disability of athletes, and the existence of a correlative negative relationship statistically significant between the psychological rigidity and self-disability of athletes of special needs.
