Abstract EN
This study presents a theoretical analysis of high performance reinforced concrete deep beams without stirrups based on three-dimensional finite element (FE) models to predict the shear stress, shear strain, load deflection, and crack propagation of 16specimens via ANSYS (v14).The variables considered in the experimental program were compressive strength (normal strength concrete, 40 MPa; high strength concrete, 60 MPa; and high performance concrete, more than 100MPa), shear span-to-depth ratio (1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, and 3), and the ratio of the amount of flexural steel bars (1.35%, 2.40%, 3.76%, and 6.108%).
Results obtained with ANSYS were compared with the experimental results to verify the accuracy of the FE models.
The general behaviors based on the linear and nonlinear ranges up to failure of the FE models show good agreement with the experimental data.
The effect of each parameter was discussed and compared with those in experimental works.
