Abstract EN

Considering the advancements of technology in today’s world, this study was conducted to identify the essential educational technology competencies for female graduate students of the Faculty of Social Sciences at IMSI University as perceived by the students themselves.

Using the descriptive approach, the researcher designed a questionnaire and ensured its validity and reliability prior to administering it to a randomly selected sample of (148) female students representing 40.77% of the female students pursuing their higher education in the different departments of the College of Social Sciences at IMSI University.

Findings revealed that competencies related to 1) the use of Internet came on top of the list, followed by 2) those related to e-learning management process, then 3) those in connection with the production of digital knowledge and finally 4) the skills related to e-communication.

Results showed statistically significant differences that can be attributed to the educational department variable.

However, no statistically significant differences were found that can be attributed to the study category (master vs.

doctoral) or study level (initial vs.

final stage).
