Abstract EN

This study is concerned with the multiplicity of grammatical meanings in text and its effect on meaning diversity in the Quranic verses.

As the position of words in the Arabic sentences has great impact on the grammatical meaning, any minor change in a word position will lead to an overall change in meaning of the sentence.

The researcher has relied on a wide base of resources for data collection such as referring to Tafseer Books and Grammatical analysis of Holy Quran books.

The researcher has also searched through previous studies that are concerned with meaning diversity in the Holy Quran.

The study aims to answer various questions related to the phenomenon of multiplicity of grammatical meaning, such as; Does the multiplicity of grammatical meanings affects the meaning of the Holy Quran verses? How often does this phenomenon appear in Surat Al-Kahf verses, and what are the reasons behind it ? How does the multiplicity of grammatical meanings affect the interpretation of Surat Al-Kahf verses ? The major findings of this study show that words have different meanings in the Holy Quran, and this accordingly affects the interpretation of the verses meanings.

The results also present that different interpretations of words are due to interpreters different interpretations of the grammatical and inflectional meaning.
