Abstract EN
This study aims at evaluating admission tests of Math, in Ibb University, based on good test criteria.
The sample of the study consisted of 241 questions taken from math’s admission tests during 2010-2015.
The researcher has used the descriptive analytic methodology.
He has also prepared a list of standards consisting of ten items to analyze the questions of the tests.
He has also prepared a tool of the study which consisted of eight forms of analyzing the questions based on the criteria of good tests.
The study has come up with the following results; the tests do not take into consideration the criterion of artistic features of the questions paper(good format (; the questions paper contains linguistic and typing errors, however, there are no errors in the content; the test do not take into consideration the availability of clear and sufficient instructions; the tests do not take into consideration the variety of questions; the questions of the tests do not completely cover the contents of the course; the questions mainly focus on low levels of mental skills; the lack of covering the topics of Math for the 3rd secondary students ; The researcher has made some suggestions including conducting training programs for developing the abilities of evaluation and measurement for the teachers and providing them with the important strategies of preparing admission tests.
