Abstract EN
The study aimed at identifying to what extent the evaluating competencies are available with mathematics teachers, and to what extent they practice those competencies and use them in evaluating secondary schools students in Eastern Nile Locality.
The researcher adopted the descriptive method, population of the study consisted of (105) mathematics teachers at secondary schools in Eastern Nile Locality, Alhaj Yousif District, the researcher selected a random sample consisting of (75) teachers from the original population, and used the questionnaire as a tool which was directed to mathematics teachers.
The data were statistically processed by using the percentages, mean, standard deviation and chi-square.
The study showed that: The evaluating competences with high degree are available with a mathematics teacher.
A mathematics teacher with high degree practices the evaluating competences in evaluating students.
There are no statistically significant differences in the evaluating competences due to qualification, gender, training, and experience variable.
There are no statistically significant differences in practicing the evaluating competencies due to qualification, gender, training, and experience variable.
The teachers study recommended to: mathematics teachers should acquire and develop the evaluating competences so as to improve the evaluation process, attention should be paid to training courses on evaluating competences field.
