Abstract EN

This study aimed to explore the depression level based on thyroid disorder type (hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism) and to identify the differences between thyroid disorders and the depression symptoms based on age and type of thyroid disorder.

Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) was administrated on a selected sample of 600 outpatients – both sexes – of endocrine clinics at King Abdulaziz specialist hospital in Taif city.

Results show that there is no significant difference in depression degree based on thyroid disorders type; and also that there are no significant differences between thyroid disorders and depression based on age and thyroid disorders type.
