It is an attempt to investigate the semantic logic that lies in derivational semantics in light of a hypothesis that suggests that the variation in nominal and verbal derivations in Arabic cannot only be due to a difference in form alone ،but is rather governed by semantic rules that could interpret the derivational system and illustrate its functions.
